Finding Your Perfect Photoshoot Location: It’s Closer Than You Think

Choosing the perfect location for your branding photoshoot can be a daunting task. In fact, the number one thing I hear from people who enquire with me is that they have no idea where to shoot! There’s no need to worry - this is something that I help you to work out. This is why I get to know your business intimately so we can choose the perfect location for you.

Here’s some ideas about how to choose the right location:

1. Keep it real
Choose a location that truly represents your business’s essence and how clients can expect to work with you. For example, if you’re a yoga instructor teaching classes indoors, capturing photos of you teaching an outdoors class might send mixed signals. Choosing a location potential clients will find you in not only keeps your branding and messaging consistent but also reassures clients that what they see is what they’ll get—an experience that aligns with your values (and theirs!).

2. Embrace local gems
There’s no need to travel far and wide for the right location - there’s always lots of great places where you are; sometimes you might just need my help to see the potential in a place! It’s often a great idea to reflect the unique features of the area where your business is located to strengthen your brand story.

3. Keep it simple
Sometimes, less is more. A simple, well-chosen location can do wonders for your brand’s visuals. We don’t need to move around to five different spots. Consider the elements that are most important to your brand – for example, it might be natural light, clean lines, a sense of calm – and let those guide your choice. By keeping the focus on what truly matters, you’ll create images that resonate with your audience without overwhelming them.

4. Make it personal
Finally, remember that the best locations are those that hold personal significance. Whether it’s a place where you feel most at ease, or somewhere that sparks joy, choosing a location that you connect with on a deeper level will add an extra layer of authenticity to your photos. Your clients will feel that connection too.

Finding the perfect photoshoot location doesn’t have to be stressful or overcomplicated. By staying true to your brand’s values and embracing the beauty of what’s around you, you’ll capture images that are not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful. This helps you to stand out from the crowd and connect authentically with your audience.
